- 320 g spaghetti 11¼ oz
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil + more to taste
- 1 clove of garlic peeled and halved
- 200 g tomato puree 7 oz
- 150 g canned tuna 5¼ oz
- Salt to taste
- Ground black pepper to taste
- Chili pepper flakes to taste
- Fresh parsley chopped
Cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente.
While the pasta cooks, prepare the tuna sauce. Heat 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil in a large non-stick frying pan. Add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
Add the tomato purée and cook for 5 minutes.
Remove the garlic and add the tuna pieces, breaking up the tuna with a wooden spoon.
Season with salt, black pepper and chili pepper flakes to taste. Finally, add chopped parsley and mix. Cook for about another 5 minutes.
Drain the pasta al dente and then transfer it to the pan with the tuna sauce. Toss the cooked pasta with the tuna sauce mixture.
Serve the tuna spaghetti warm, seasoned with a little more olive oil and chopped parsley to taste.
